The Shabby Tea Room #88

The Shabby Tea Room's Challenge was this beautiful picture.  Aren't the colors yummy!

This is my take on this inspirational picture...

I first embossed my cardstock but before running it through my Big Shot I lightly went over the raised background with Versamark Ink.  After I put it through I then put white embossing powder all over the cardstock and heated with my heat tool.  After that  I used tattered rose distress ink and went over the cardstock and of course it resisted the embossed areas.  I stamped this jolly ole snowman on a die cut piece of shimmering white cardstock and colored with my copics.  I added a snowflake button on his hat that I also colored with my copics and a few clear gems that I colored also.  I punched a few snowflakes and added glitter.  I used a tag which I stamped and glittered as well.

I added some black Glossy Accents for his button and clear on his eyes.

I hope you have a great weekend!!

Today I just have a couple cards that I made for my family that will not be here with us on Thanksgiving.  I used Papertrey Ink stamps and dies and some My Mind's Eye paper and Basic Grey paper.  The cardstock is Papertrey.

Hope you have a great day!!

Holiday Card Boot Camp

Well it has been a long time.  I started school and between that and all my children's comings and goings, I've been swamped!  I'm also trying to sneak in some long walks  here and there.  I wanted to post a new card that I made last night.  I am currently taking a great class with Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner.  They are so inspirational!!  So glad to be a part of it.

I stamped this little guy on some PTI white cardstock with Memento ink and then colored with Copics.  I have added some Hero Arts bling in some of the snowflakes which are hard to see in this photo.  The next picture shows more of the card.  I followed a sketch that was presented in the class...Holiday Boot Camp.

I die cut a scalloped circle and inked the edges a bit with Distress Picket Fence ink.  I used dimensional tape and added that to a circle card that I cut using circle cutters from Creative Memories.  I made the banner tag from PTI cardstock and stamped Believe in the new PTI Red Poppy Ink.  I love the way this little guy turned out.

Hope you are having a great week and I hope to be back soon!

Week #76 - "The Sweet Days of Summer" The Shabby Tea Room

This is the Shabby Tea Room Challenge for week 76.  You must creat a card or project that uses pink, peach and green along with any neutrals.  I have to say these are my favorite colors!!  I started with some "Sweet Threads" from Basic Grey and some Melon Berry cardstock from PTI.  I decided to ink up some new stamps from PTI that I just got in the mail!  I made my own sunflower design on paper using various chalk inks and versa inks.  I loved how it turned out!  I then die cut the newly made paper with a scallop circle from Life Style Crafts.  I framed that with more cream PTI cardstock.  I die cut my leaves from Spellbinders "Foilage" dies.  The challenge calls for a hand made flower which I made using another new die from PTI.  Love how these dies make such 3-D flowers.  The sentiment was stamped using the same stamp as the flowers called "Simple Sunflower."

Hope you are having a great day!  Here in Williamsburg, VA  we are preparing for Hurricane Irene.  Let's just hope it is not like Isabell!  :)  That one did not go so well here.  I have prepared by filling propane tanks, buying water and batteries.  We have a great deal of hardwoods in my neighborhood that are any where from 50 to 90 feet tall.  When Isabell came through, we lost power for 7 days and could not get out of the neighborhood until we all got out and literally cut trees out of the way!  Not hoping for that mess again!!   Hope everyone stays safe.

Shabby Tea Room Challenge #72 "Relax and Enjoy"

... and use YELLOW, PINK, GREEN AND ANY NEUTRALS in your design!
This is the flower pin I made.

Today I made a card for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge.  The card I made uses papers from Crate Paper's Emma colletion along with an image from Made by Janet from her Etsy shop.  I also used We R Memories new Seweasy stitch piercer.  I love how shabby the stitching looks with this tool.  I also made my own pin for this card using jewels I picked up at Joann Fabrics.   The sentiment is from PTI's  Tag-Its #3.  Loved the colors in this Challenge.  I am pleased with how this card turned out.  Hope everyone is having a great day!

Shabby Tea Room Challenge week #67 "Classic Patterns"

This week on the Shabby Tea Room we were suppose to use these colors and polka dots and/or gingham.  I used a little of everything in this banner that I made for a friend.  I finished it today and thought I would enter.

Today I finished a beautiful banner for a friend.  She is having a baby girl and I made this for her baby shower.  I can say that I had the best time making these cute little onsies.  Her husband works at W&M hence the W&M onsie and they love to line dance so I made a "cowgirl" onsie too.  Will want to do this again as they are so much fun to create!!

There they are.  I am sorry that these pictures are dark.  I took them outside but it was in the shade. Here's hoping you had a great Thursday!!!

Make it Monday #18: Adding texture with tissue paper with Papertrey Ink

It's another great day here in VA.  I tried my hand at addingtexture to my card with tissue paper.  I love the way it turned out.  If you are familiar with the Lauderdale patterned paper from Basic Grey, you will recognize this really vivid colored paper.  I added white tissue to the top of that paper and stamped a very light dragonfly directly on the tissue in a very light pink and purple ink.  The white cardstock, the sentiment and the label are all from PTI
I will definitely try this technique again!
Hope you had a great day!

Celebrate-Shabby Tea Room challenge #65 "Technique Week"

Hey there on this beautiful Monday.  I will enjoy today as tomorrow is suppose to be close to 100!  Good grief!  I made a card for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge.  We were suppose to use some type of embossing.  I love this.  I made a graduation card for my son's girlfriend who is graduating on the 17th.  I embossed the diploma with gold embossing powder.  I used a dry embossing folder from Spellbinders to emboss the Tim Holtz Label and I heat embossed the Celebrate on the front of the card as well.  I love the patterned paper from My Mind's Eye.
Hope you enjoy!

Shabby Tea Room Challenge week #64 and PTI Make it Monday #17Challenge

This week I decided to play along in the Shabby Tea Room Challenge and the PTI Weekly Challenge.  This card was made from some of the new Basic Grey papers, a paper doilie, some lace I had in my stash, and some vintage buttons I had.  I tried a new technique that Heather Nichols used on the Make It Monday video...cracked glass, using Versamark Ink.  Love this technique.  In the Shabby Tea Room you had to use two patterned papers, 4 buttons and 6 layers.  In the PTI challenge I used a die, a stamp and PTI's wonderful card stock.  Hope you enjoy and hope your weekend is going along wonderfully!

Shabby Tea Room Challenge week #62

Week #62 - 'Monochromatic'

I absolutely love this stamp from Hero Arts.  I made a 5 1/2 by 4/1/4 card out of PTI kraft cardstock.  I then added PTI's distressed dots paper.  The top vintage cream cardstock was stamped with the Hero Arts stamp with Ranger's Antique Linen Distress Ink.  I highlighted the whole card by brushing on white perfect pearls. I then put some bling in the inside of the flowers with Distressed Stickles in Antique Linen. I added my sentiment to the patterned paper and added liquid perfect pearls to random dots on the paper.  I die cut a small tag from PTI's tiny tags and stamped it with the same stamps, tied on ribbon and added a Jenni Bowlin stick pin.  I wish my pictures showed the shine and glimmer.  Sorry that the picture was so dark.

Hey!  This is a card I made for The Shabby Tea Room Challenge.  The card is made from PTI cardstock.  The green pattern paper I have had a long time and not sure where it came from.  The patterned paper is from Pink Paislee's House of Three Collection.  I love that it is ink resist.  I cut the butterfly out and the dress form from the same collection.  I went over the doily paper with Broken China distress ink.  I stamped the frame and the corner in black Versa ink and the bottom black scroll is a sticker.  The pink flowers are from Frost It Pink.  I used hand died satin ribbon from Memrie Mare.  The sentiment was stamped on a small tag.  I love these Spring like.  Hope everyone is having a good week.  Tomorrow starts our Spring break.  YEAH!!!  I am going to my favorite city, Charleston, SC!

Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

Hope everyone is having a great Friday!  I love this happy card.  The card is made from  PTI cream card stock.  I stamped the lamb image from a We r Memory stamp in Hero Arts brown dye ink onto a white swiss dot card stock and cut it out.  I used the dies from PTI to cut the sun (Flower Fusion I) and the label using the Limitless Layers dies.  The patterned paper is from here. It is from the collection from My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose.  I hand cut the butterfly and used embroidery thread  to make it a kite.  I used a button to finish off the sun along with some embroidery thread.  The sentiment was made from two separate sets.  Hope you enjoyed this post!  Happy Spring!!

This a card I made for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge.  The bingo straight across is gems, ribbon and glitter.  I used paper and crown and clock stamp from pink paislee ( Parisian Anthology and Sweetness).   I distressed inked the round doily on the ink resist paper and then stamped it with the clock.  I used stickles on the flowers and a glittered star that I got here along with the stick pin.  Enjoy!

The Shabby Tea Room Challenge week of March 21st

I thought this card would be perfect for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge this week.  I have gems, lace and die cuts, ribbon, and embossing, and a little glitter on the butterfly...which in this picture is hard to see unless you click on it to see better.  I want to enter this in  The Shabby Tea Room Challenge week of March 21st bingo ( gems, glitter and ribbon).  Hope you like it!  This card is for a dear friend of mine whose birthday is fast approaching.

PTI Distressing challenge

I made this card for the PTI challenge this week.  The cardstock is from PTI...sweet blush and smokey shadow.  The patterned paper is from PinkPaislee's House of Three and their Sweetness collection.
I cut my sweet blush cardstock to make the card.  I then cut the patterned paper (polka dot) and added it to the sweet blush.  I cut a circle from the sweetlace sheet of House of Three and went over it with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink from Tim Holtz. I then stamped the lace with the clock image from the clear stamps from the girl's paperie set called paper girl. I used my scissors to distress the edges of the bottom of the card and the lace circle.  I also used the crown and an embellishment from this set.  The label and stamp are from PTI.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  The star came from Frost It Pink and the pin is from Jenni Bowlin and the pearls are from Melissa Frances.  The ribbon is from the Etsy shop of  MemrieMare.

Valentine Treats

Where Women Cook
Saltine Caramel Bars
These great bars were found in the brand new published magazine called Where Women Cook. This particular recipe came from Koralee Teichroeb who was featured in this first volume.  The publisher is Stampinton and Company's Somerset Studio.  The pictures are absolutely beautiful and the recipes are to die for.  I bought mine at my local Barnes and Noble bookstore.   I made these this weekend for my friends at school and here is the packages I put them in....

These bags were printed off the computer from the blog of The Farm Chicks. It was a free download and they were simple to put together.  I added tags from Papertrey Ink which were stamped from their 2010 Love Tags and I used their circle dies as well.
This is a card I made for a very special friend for Valentines.  I used papers from Pink Paislee, cardstock from Papertrey Ink, a heart dollie, a stick pin from Jenni Bowlin, and my flower comes from Prima Flowers.  The hand died ribbon is from an Etsy Shop called MemrieMare.

Hope you enjoy my post today.  I had a blast creating these treats!!  Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!
