Shabby Tea Room Challenge week #67 "Classic Patterns"

This week on the Shabby Tea Room we were suppose to use these colors and polka dots and/or gingham.  I used a little of everything in this banner that I made for a friend.  I finished it today and thought I would enter.

Today I finished a beautiful banner for a friend.  She is having a baby girl and I made this for her baby shower.  I can say that I had the best time making these cute little onsies.  Her husband works at W&M hence the W&M onsie and they love to line dance so I made a "cowgirl" onsie too.  Will want to do this again as they are so much fun to create!!

There they are.  I am sorry that these pictures are dark.  I took them outside but it was in the shade. Here's hoping you had a great Thursday!!!                                                                              

Make it Monday #18: Adding texture with tissue paper with Papertrey Ink

It's another great day here in VA.  I tried my hand at addingtexture to my card with tissue paper.  I love the way it turned out.  If you are familiar with the Lauderdale patterned paper from Basic Grey, you will recognize this really vivid colored paper.  I added white tissue to the top of that paper and stamped a very light dragonfly directly on the tissue in a very light pink and purple ink.  The white cardstock, the sentiment and the label are all from PTI. 
I will definitely try this technique again!

Celebrate-Shabby Tea Room challenge #65 "Technique Week"

Hey there on this beautiful Monday.  I will enjoy today as tomorrow is suppose to be close to 100!  Good grief!  I made a card for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge.  We were suppose to use some type of embossing.  I love this.  I made a graduation card for my son's girlfriend who is graduating on the 17th.  I embossed the diploma with gold embossing powder.  I used a dry embossing folder from Spellbinders to emboss the Tim Holtz Label and I heat embossed the Celebrate on the front of the card as well.  I love the patterned paper from My Mind's Eye.

Shabby Tea Room Challenge week #64 and PTI Make it Monday #17Challenge

This week I decided to play along in the Shabby Tea Room Challenge and the PTI Weekly Challenge.  This card was made from some of the new Basic Grey papers, a paper doilie, some lace I had in my stash, and some vintage buttons I had.  I tried a new technique that Heather Nichols used on the Make It Monday video...cracked glass, using Versamark Ink.  Love this technique.  In the Shabby Tea Room you had to use two patterned papers, 4 buttons and 6 layers.  In the PTI challenge I used a die, a stamp and PTI's wonderful card stock.  Hope you enjoy and hope your weekend is going along wonderfully!
