Hello Pink and Green- Case Study #151

Isn't this a fabulous color palette?  Love the neon!  I decided to join in the fun this week at Case Study and come up with a bright card!  I used alcohol inks to create my background for use with the Sunbathing stamp from Outlines Rubber Stamps!  I complimented it with some Raspberry Fizz and Limeade Ice cardstock from PTI.  The rickrack I have had for sometime and thought it was time to use it! I die cut a butterfly from PTI and layered it, and there you have it...a fun, bright card!

Happy Monday!!!

See you soon!!

Happy Summer

How's this for inspiration!!!!  This is summer at it's finest!! I made a little card that is just "happy summer" time!  I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for this week which this picture inspired.  I used Hero Art's stamp set Life of the Party!  I stamped the darling ice cream cones on different pattern papers along with the fun ticket. I cut out by hand and pieced together.  The paper is from Simple Stories' Summer Fresh.  The happy summer sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Flipping Out.  I used a sticker as well from Summer Fresh.  The sentiment is stamped on burlap and I added a red button.

The card base is kraft cardstock from PTI.   A twine bow was added at the top!  Hope everyone out there is having a great summer and enjoying some of the great foods of summer!
I also followed the first color combo in Summer Card Camp 2 for this card.  Last day of camp makes me sad..:(

Good night!

PTI's Blog Hop and Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

The 25th of the month brings the  July 2013 Papertrey Blog Hop! I chose the color inspiration above to make a card using Papertrey's Through the Trees stamp set.  I also included a dot stamp from Flower Fusion #3 and some random dots from Birthday Style.

I used PTI's Stamper's White cardstock along with Raspberry Fizz and Hibiscus Burst.  The embossing folder is from Stampin' Up.  I added a small heart to the tree trunk.  I stamped the dots randomly around the trunk with Raspberry Fizz ink and Stampin' Up's  Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush.  The tree was stamped in PTI's Dark Chocolate.  I mixed Simply Chartreuse and Limeade Ice on the stamp and sprayed it with a little water and then stamped over my dots.  I then continued to add a few dots on top of the green.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I love Through The Trees!!  Hope you enjoy this card!

I am also entering this card into My Moxie Fab's Tuesday's Trigger which has this inspiration:

Aren't these colors FABULOUS!!  Love!  I could stare at these colors all day.  I pulled the pinks and greens from this along with the dot effect on the tree.  You should play along!!

Have a Great Day!!

One of a Kind

Summer Card Camp 2

Well same color palette today...different card!  This certainly is not easy for me. Here is the sketches we are using this week.

I used the 2nd sketch and did my own thing really.  And here it is:

The center is a Hero Art's stamp that I stamped in a deep purple.  This stamp makes the flower have two shades of purple.  I die cut two butterflies, one from light purple and one from aqua vellum.  I put both thru an embossing folder to give them texture.  I used some sequins as I thought it needed something.

Close up..the picture is a little dark as it is cloudy here!

Happy Birthday Foxy

Summer Card Camp 2

Today I made a card using an unusual color combo for me:

This was a super hard palette for me.  I wanted to make a card last night but could not wrap my head around these colors.  Today is a new day and I came up with this

I used a few die cuts for this card from PTI.  The stamp set for the fox, butterfly and small heart is from Hello Foxy along with those dies.  The words happy and foxy are from that same set.  The word BIRTHDAY is a die that matches the stamp set Wonderful Words: Birthday.  I cut that die out using 3 different cardstock colors.  I then glued in the various colored pieces into the aqua reverse die cut using the purple word as my base.  The fox was cut from kraft and stamped in dark brown.  I highlighted the tail with Enamel Accents.  I also added some Glossy Accents to the butterfly dots.  My moon is a circle that I heat embossed with gold embossing powder after dragging my Versamark ink over it.  I heat embossed this moon three times.  I also cut out that cute border three times and added various colors to that as well.  I took the aqua border and cut two little pieces and made the fox's bow and added a gem to the center.

As you can see I also added some faux stitching around the aqua border.   I like how this card turned out.  Hope you enjoy!  This class rocks you should certainly take this class!  It is available at anytime.

Let's Chill! SSS's By The Sea Challenge

By the Sea

Of course I loved this challenge.  Anything beachy is for me!!  I had so much fun.  I fussy cut all but the sun on this project.  That was a Papertrey die.

The stamps of the crab and palm tree are from Hero Art's Let's Chill stamp set.  I used kraft cardstock for the card base and added the dot paper from Down by the Shore from Fancy Pants.  I also used a product that I love from MuddPuddles.  It is a small jar of mini shells and Malibu Beach sand.  I also made clouds with Ranger's Distress Stain in Picket Fence and then went over it with Perfect Pearls to give it some shine.

I also added some Glossy Accents to the coconuts which you cannot really see in this picture.  Sorry it is a dreary day here.  I used some Copic Markers to shade the tree and sun.  Hope you enjoy!  Have a good afternoon!!

The Play Date Cafe #191

The Play Date Cafe and Summer Card Camp #2

I decided to play in The Play Date Cafe as I absolutely love these colors...melon and cantaloupe!  I used Stampin' Up's Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding cardstock and ink.  The card base is PTI's vintage cream cardstock. I did a tri-fold card.  The colors do not necessarily go with SCC2's colors but I did follow Jennifer's fun card!

I stamped the biggest flower in the Crisp Cantaloupe and added some darker shading with Stampin' Up's blender pen using Calypso Coral ink.  This stamp is from Cutting Garden at PTI.  I used the matching dies to cut out the flowers and leaves.  The sentiment is from PTI's Signature Greetings II.  The enamel dots are from MME.

I added a little glitter in the center with the Sakura glitter pen.

The inside sentiment is from Stylish Sentiments Birthday from PTI as well.  All sentiments were stamped with Stampin' Up's Baked Brown Sugar.
I like how these colors look so good together.  I am sending this card to a dear lady who will be 89 this month!  She was always like a second mom to me.    Hope you enjoyed today's post!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Summer Card Camp 2 - Holiday stash?

Wishing you a very happy BIRTHDAY

Loving this little guy anytime of year!!  We were challenged today to use anything holiday to make a non-holiday card!!  Well this little penguin is from Inkadinkado Christmas Characters stamp.  The hat is a Christmas tree from a stamp set that the name fell off of in my folder.  I believe it is from My Mind's Eye but not sure.  I stamped the penguin in Versamark Ink and heat embossed him in black powder.  I shaded him some with copics and a white pen.  I also stamped the tree and heat embossed in blue powder then colored in and added some white polka dots.  I cut it out and cut off the trunk.  The tinsel adds fun to the birthday hat!  The dots are from a PTI stamp called Birthday Style.  The confetti dies coordinate with that stamp set.
The sentiment is also a PTI stamp set called Wonderful Words Birthday and it too has a matching birthday die.
Hope you like this card!  I am actually loving this color combo!!  Have a great Thursday!

Fore Your Birthday

A Fun Shaker Card

This card was fun to make and I used many techniques on it.  I used Distress Inks to make the blue and green background on a piece of PTI's white stampers cardstock.  After making the background I stamped the trees, green and flag...all from PTI.  I also die cut the golf cart and golf flag with dies that match PTI's On The Links stamp set.  The trees are from their stamp set Through the Trees.  For the fun stuff in the shaker card, I used die cut tees and sequins.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set On The Links.  After die cutting the cart I used some masking to stamp the tires and then the body of the cart.  I embossed the tires with black embossing powder.  The circle around the card is cut from PTI's kraft stripe paper.  The next photo gives you a closer look.

I used a pearl for the golf ball.  For the window I used some recycled packing material.  I love how this turned out.  This was also done for Summer Card Camp 2.  In today's lesson, Kelly, from Lawn Fawn did a fun shaker card with hot air balloons that was so cute!!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

The Ombre Effect

Loving the Ombre Technique in class today!!

Sorry about the pictures.  One was taken with my son's iphone...and this one with my camera.  This is a close up shot of the ombre technique we learned in Summer Card Camp 2 class today.  You heat emboss with different shades of the same color of embossing powder.  Here I used two shades of aqua and some white embossing powder.  I love this technique.  The only thing that I hate is you have to throw the powder away once you pour the colors as they get mixed up when you tap it off.  I went from the darkest to lightest powder.  I used the same technique on my next card as well.

This picture is not any better....sorry!!  I went from lightest embossing powder to darkest on this card.  The stamps and Framelit on this card are from the new Stampin' Up Catalog.

Summer Card Camp 2

Well it is Monday and Summer Card Camp 2 is in week two!  I am happy how this card turned out.  There are three new sketches and a new color combo as well.  This little monkey is a die cut and stamp from Papertrey Ink's Tremendous Treats: Birthday.  This is one of my favorite stamps and they now have all the dies to coordinate with all the sweet stamps in this set.  I die cut a scalloped circle from  Lifestyle Crafts Scalloped Circle dies straight on the front of the card.  The card base and the monkey are cut from Papertrey Ink's cardstock.  The green is some American Craft cardstock and the blue is the new Coastal Cabana color from Stampin' Up.
After I cut out the scallop, I die cut a green scallop for the outside of the circle and the inside of the circle to finish it off.  I hung the monkey from inside of the card's circle before I added the inside scallop.  The banner die cut is also from PTI.  The sentiment is  from Tremendous Treats as well.   I finished off with some sequins and enamel dots.  The inside of the card is trimmed on the bottom with another border die from PTI.
I hope you enjoy this would  be great for adults or children.  Have a great week!!

Birthday Wishes

Birthday Wishes

I'm back tonight with another card for the Summer Card Camp 2 class.  Our challenge was to make a card in 10 minutes from start to finish.  I gotta be honest....I did not make it!  This was a simple card to assemble but it did not go as fast as it should have!!
The products I used were all from Papertrey Ink with the exception of the enamel dots which are all from My Minds Eye.  I do like the color combination which is also the color challenge from Summer Card Camp 2 for the week.

Life is Better in Flip Flops!

This is a card I made for an online class I am taking called Summer Card Camp 2!  This is a great online class with Jennifer McGuire and many great card and scrapbook bloggers and artists.  On this card I dry embossed some vellum.  I then cut six 1 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch cardstock.  I used Papertrey Ink's Flipping Out dies to cut out the flip flops and popped that up on a scallop and circle punch.  I added some stitching with my Signo pen.
Hope everyone is having a great summer!!
